Jake had his 6th birthday party today at My Gym and he had a lot of fun. They made him feel like a King for the day. There were a lot of giggles, playing, and running around. Just as a 6th birthday should be. They should all be that way no matter how old we get. He had a lot of wonderful friends there but he missed his Mady (and Zach too). In the car on the way home he said sadly, "Mommy, Mady couldn't come." Very sweet. We miss you guys!

Lunch at Lake Windward Elementary
Today, Abigail, Dean and I surprised Jake at school and met him for lunch in the cafeteria. He seemed very happy to see us (Andrew stayed with Grandma). Abigail felt like a big girl eating with her brother''s class. She was trying very hard to impress the girls sitting at the table with her humor. The food wasn't all that bad. Definitely better than when I was in elementary school. Jake had a pizza pak, Daddy and Abigail had a turkey hot dog and I had fried chicken. So many choices for the little ones! Oh and lunch was at 10:35 am. Yes, he eats lunch that early every day. No wonder he cleans the pantry out when he gets home from school.

Abigail's 1st Day of Preschool
Today was Abigail's first day of preschool! She was a little nervous but went right in without one tear. I am so proud of her. Her day started at home with lots of hugs and kisses from mommy and daddy. Even Andrew was giving her kisses. Mommy was the one with tears in her eyes when she told me how much she would miss me! I would miss her too. When I went to pick her up, Ms. Katie (her teacher), told me she had a great day and was happy all day. I hope the rest of the year will go as smoothly. That evening in bed, I asked Abigail what her favorite part of the day was and she said "playing with the baby dolls and you picking me up." That 's my girl!

Back to school and fun
We've had a busy couple of days. Abigail started taking ballet again. This is her passion right now. Just like Aunt Carrie. She lives for Tuesdays when she gets to put on her tights and dance. I love to watch her have so much fun. On Thursday, we met her new preschool teachers and saw her classroom. This was not as big of a hit with her. She was nervous but was a good sport about it. The best part of the class for her were the baby dolls! Her teachers are sweet and she will have a great year at Parkway. She starts school on Monday!
Dean and I visited Jake's classroom on Wednesday night for Curriculum Night. Wow, Kindergarten has changed A LOT since I was in it. Kids are so smart these days. I loved the picture Jake did so much I took a picture of it. He is in his second week of school and is doing great.
Andrew is the best little brother ever. He follows us around everywhere and never complains. He must know that his day will come soon.

Jake's 1st day of Kindergarten
Today was my baby's first day of Kindergarten. Hard to believe that he is old enough to ride a school bus and buy his own lunch. But he is and he did great. We are so proud of him. He woke up early and ran downstairs to get his day started. After breakfast the family was off to the bus stop. We had to wake Abigail out of a deep sleep to do this but we all wanted to be there. She asked me "Do I have to get on that school bus?" She loves to stay home with her mommy. He loved his teachers, the cafeteria and meeting all his new classmates. This was a huge relief for me. As an added bonus, one of the first things he said to me when he got off the school bus was "I love you mommy!" Doesn't get any better than that!
