What a Wonderful Weekend with the Lewchanin's!

We had a wonderful weekend. It just wasn't long enough. Our best friends were in town visiting this weekend from DC and it felt like they had never left. We had a great time going to dinner, the kids playing together, going to the park, the guys playing golf and just hanging out. Zachary said it best at the park when he said "Mommy, I don't know what to do first. There is so much to do."

I've missed them so and hope our next visit will be longer.

Family Night at Lake Windward Elementary

Tonight was Family Fun Night at Lake Windward Elementary. Daddy had to work late and go to class so Grandma filled in quite nicely. Thanks Grandma! We all had a lot of fun. First, we attended the book fair in the media center and Jake and Abigail each picked out two books to purchase. I love that they love to read! Then it was off to the cafeteria. We had pizza and drinks then the kids decided to join in on the limbo. Abigail watched Jake dance a few minutes then asked if she could join him. It only took a minute before she warmed up and danced like she was six years old too. I couldn't get the smile off my face watching them together. Jake is an awesome big brother. They did the limbo, YMCA, macarena and many many more. After Andrew finished his entire slice of pizza he wanted to join his brother and sister and dance as well. He has as much rhythm as Jake and Abigail. Before too long all three of them will be here together.

After our night was over we went to McDonald's for ice cream. Abigail's idea. In the car on the way back from school she said "I want to go to Old McDonald's mommy. I don't want to go home." Party girl.

Andrew's First Haircut

Today Drew got his very first haircut. There were no tears but he seemed a little nervous in the beginning. Big sister Abigail kept him laughing by playing with him. She is a great big sister, almost like another mommy. We didn't cut too much off, I love his German blonde curly hair. Abigail was able to get a haircut today too. She asked Jasmine if she would put pig tails in her hair. She looked so cute!

Andrew is 14 months

Andrew turned 14 months today. He loves to walk now and loves to carry around as much as he can. He'll carry whatever is available as you can see from this picture. He is the biggest sweetheart and I feel blessed to have him.

A Day in the Life of Us

I don't know where the time goes. They keep me busy. Today, Drew decided to climb onto a chair, then a little table to get on our window seat in the kitchen. He is my climber and will climb up anything and everything.

He LOVES Spaghetti-O's! Can you tell?

Jake made this card for his assistant teacher Mrs. Benoit. Her birthday was today. He is such a sweetheart! Always thinking of others.

Abigail drew this portrait of me today. You are probably wondering why I took a picture of it but this is the first time she actually drew a "stick figure". One day they are scribbling and literally the next day they are drawing people. Amazes me!

A Sure Sign of Fall

I know it is Fall when we make our first trip to Tallahassee to enjoy Florida State football. Every year we make the family trip with Grandma and Grandpa to FSU home games. It is an experience like no other and I am so glad my children love it as much as me. Well, maybe as much as me. The dipping dots in the FSU helmets are also a big hit at the game! I love this place! Go Noles!!!!!!!

Andrew's First Steps

Andrew took his first steps today! Grandma and Grandpa Hetzler were over watching the Florida State football game with us when Andrew decided to get up and walk across the family room. I guess he figured he had a captive audience. He was so cute walking from person to person around the room. He was very proud of himself.

Jake is Six

I can't believe Jake is six years old today. It seems like yesterday when Dean drove down I-575 going 115 mph to the hospital. Squeezing the life from my mom's hand in the backseat of the car, I didn't think I was going to make it. I did and a beautiful baby boy came into our life that day. He is such a sweet, smart and caring boy. He is always worried about everyone else but is also the life of the party.

He had a great day today. He wore the birthday crown at school all day, even home on the school bus. He wanted to go out to dinner so we let him choose where he wanted to go. He chose Lin's, a chinese restaurant. After eating lettuce wraps, sesame shrimp and chicken and fried rice we sang happy birthday and shared fried ice cream. It was like a funnel cake with ice cream. We opened our fortune cookies and Jake had the best one. Here is a picture of it!

At Grandma and Grandpa's he opened a few presents and then we sang happy birthday again and had a cookie cake for him. It was a great day!!

Happy Birthday Jake! Thanks for bringing sunshine into our lives everyday!

Jake's 6th Birthday Party

Jake had his 6th birthday party today at My Gym and he had a lot of fun. They made him feel like a King for the day. There were a lot of giggles, playing, and running around. Just as a 6th birthday should be. They should all be that way no matter how old we get. He had a lot of wonderful friends there but he missed his Mady (and Zach too). In the car on the way home he said sadly, "Mommy, Mady couldn't come." Very sweet. We miss you guys!

Andrew Kisses

My baby loves to give kisses! Here comes one now!

Lunch at Lake Windward Elementary

Today, Abigail, Dean and I surprised Jake at school and met him for lunch in the cafeteria. He seemed very happy to see us (Andrew stayed with Grandma). Abigail felt like a big girl eating with her brother''s class. She was trying very hard to impress the girls sitting at the table with her humor. The food wasn't all that bad. Definitely better than when I was in elementary school. Jake had a pizza pak, Daddy and Abigail had a turkey hot dog and I had fried chicken. So many choices for the little ones! Oh and lunch was at 10:35 am. Yes, he eats lunch that early every day. No wonder he cleans the pantry out when he gets home from school.

Abigail's 1st Day of Preschool

Today was Abigail's first day of preschool! She was a little nervous but went right in without one tear. I am so proud of her. Her day started at home with lots of hugs and kisses from mommy and daddy. Even Andrew was giving her kisses. Mommy was the one with tears in her eyes when she told me how much she would miss me! I would miss her too. When I went to pick her up, Ms. Katie (her teacher), told me she had a great day and was happy all day. I hope the rest of the year will go as smoothly. That evening in bed, I asked Abigail what her favorite part of the day was and she said "playing with the baby dolls and you picking me up." That 's my girl!
